It’s holiday time once again and you can feel the excitement building for time off with family, friends, and fun, festive events. When it comes to this latter, the Lansing area has plenty to offer, and then some. Beloved traditional events like Lansing Silver Bells In The City, Potter Park Zoo’s Wonderland of Lights, the MSU’s annual Arts and Crafts Holiday Show, and so much more!
There’s nothing like the end of the year holidays to put a smile on your face and a glow in your spirit. Home and stores are brightly lit, people are in good spirits, and the scent of chocolate and spice seems to be everywhere.

Potter Park Zoo Wonderland of Lights 2021 and Other Area Holiday Events

The holidays are nearly upon us and the excitement is in the air. Everywhere you look there are bright lights, festive decorations and the calendar is loaded with fun events to attend. Things like Wonderland of Lights at Potter Park Zoo, Lansing’s Silver Bells In the City, East Lansing’s Winter Glow and more!
Thanksgiving, Christmas, and all the end of the year holidays always bring such a warm and happy glow with them. Who doesn’t enjoy the sight of twinkling holiday lights in an otherwise cold and dark winter’s night? If you plan on being in the Lansing area this holiday season, you’ll find plenty to enjoy throughout both November and December.

Potter Park Zoo – Not Your Typical Zoo

Animal lovers and anyone looking for a fun time out will enjoy visiting Potter Park Zoo in Lansing, Michigan. Not only is it just 20 minutes from The English Inn, it’s also not your typical zoo!
Beautifully landscaped Potter Park Zoo is nestled in an old oak forest along the Red Cedar River, in the heart of Michigan’s Capital City. The 100-acre park, gardens, and zoo opened in 1920 and are home to nearly 600 animals, representing well over 160 different species.
Visitors are treated to African lions, Amur tigers, snow leopards, black rhinos, meerkats, lemurs, mandrills, and a great many others. With such a variety of residents, there is always something new and exciting to see at the zoo. More than at your average zoo, in fact.

Potter Park Zoo 2018 Wonderland of Lights and Winter Wine & Stein

Lansing’s Potter Park Zoo is always good for a visit – but during the holiday season it really shines. In fact, the zoo’s annual Wonderland of Lights and Winter Wine & Stein events have become a part of the area’s holiday traditions.
The Lansing area hosts a number of popular, annual holiday events – Silver Bells in the City, Winter Glow, and Christmas at Meridian Historical Village, to name just a few.
Two popular events that help to make the Lansing holiday season bright every year are held at Potter Park Zoo. Actually, the zoo hosts numerous special events throughout the year.

Silver Bells in the City is probably the biggest and most popular of the annual Lansing holiday events. The city is lit with thousands of merry, sparkling lights and decorations for the season. Events include the Electric Light Parade, Silver Bells Village, the lighting of the State Christmas Tree, live entertainment, and fireworks over the Capitol dome.
