Bridal Show, 2011
February 10th, 2011 by insideout
We’re hosting a Bridal Show at our Eaton Rapids Lodging on Sunday, February 20, 2011. Between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., future brides will have the opportunity to speak with wedding planners and caterers. A variety of wedding dresses will also be on display.
Bring your mother, your sister, and your best friend. Planning a wedding is often stressful, but it should be fun. For one wintry afternoon, don’t agonize over whether or not you should invite your second-cousin-once-removed (and his five children). Instead, gaze upon glorious wedding gowns and imagine yourself in them. Sample a wedding cake. Sip champagne.
We look forward to filling our Lansing Michigan Wedding Venue with prospective brides. While we enjoy all aspects of running a restaurant and inn, we have to admit that weddings are among our favorite events.
For more information about the February 20, 2011 Bridal Show, please call (517) 663-2500.

Lansing Michigan Weddings

Simply put, The English Inn is a spectacular venue for Lansing weddings.
We offer numerous wedding packages and will help you create your own option should none of ours feel quite right. Our Lansing Inn features several intimate spaces ideal for smaller ceremonies and receptions, while the ballroom in newer Medovue Hall comfortably holds 200 guests. Couples hoping for an outdoor ceremony will find our historic grounds ideal; intimate ceremonies are wonderful in the English Gardens, while The Pergola on the Grand is a scenic spot for larger outdoor ceremonies.
Our Michigan inn and restaurant was originally the home of auto baron Irving Jacob Reuter, who had it built in 1927. The mansion welcomed many of the biggest names in the Automotive Industry through 1936, when the Reuters retired to Florida. Great pains were taken to maintain many original features when the building was converted to an inn, restaurant, and conference center in 1989. The pergola, swimming pool, fishpond and gardens are as they were when the Reuters resided here.
Since we are an inn, there is no need for the wedding party to stay elsewhere. Let us take care of everything so you can enjoy your wedding.
What Makes a Good Wedding?
May 20th, 2010 by insideout
Everyone will have a slightly different answer to this question. For some, the ideal wedding involves the bride, the groom, and a person to make the union legal. For others, the ideal wedding must include lots of friends and families, a delicious feast, and dancing.
Most folks would agree, however, that it is important to have a plan and be well organized. That’s where we can help your Michigan wedding be all you want it to be.

Lansing Carriage Rides

Spring is here, which means that Crystal Falls Horse and Carriage Company will soon be open for business. A romantic ride in a horse drawn carriage is a great addition to your stay at our Lansing MI bed and breakfast.
When planning your Lansing wedding, consider traveling by carriage to our lovely Tudor Revival inn. A horse drawn carriage looks natural in our drive, and it adds a touch a elegance to any wedding.

Carriage rides are fun, romantic and classy.

Wedding Open House
February 16th, 2010 by insideout

Take the first steps toward planning your wedding this Sunday.
Sunday, February 21, 2010, our Lansing Michigan inn is hosting a Wedding Open House from 11am to 3pm.
Weddings require so much planning and so many decisions, it can be hard to know where to start. On Sunday, take the first steps toward creating your special day.
More than 20 of the finest wedding professionals in Michigan will be on hand to field questions and offer general suggestions. You may meet the person who will help you realize your perfect wedding. While you are here, taste appetizers, enjoy a drink, and sample wedding cakes.
This is also a great opportunity to learn about the wedding venues here at our Lansing area inn. We have lovely settings for both intimate and large indoor weddings. Outdoor weddings may be in our lush gardens or in the pergola in the woods, overlooking the Grand River.
We hope this event will help you crystallize your wedding plans. We also expect it to be fun.
Planning Your Wedding
January 11th, 2010 by insideout
If you plan to marry later this year, now is the time to start planning your Michigan wedding. This may be the first great event that the two of you negotiate together, and the more time you allow for discussion and decision making, the better.

The Pergola.
First you need to decide how large or small you would like your wedding to be. Looking at different venues can help you make that decision. At our Lansing area Inn, we have many options, from the Oxford Room which is ideal for an intimate reception of up to sixteen guests, to Medovue Hall, which can comfortably accommodate 200.
Having the ceremony and reception at the same location is wonderfully convenient. We have two areas that are quite nice for Lansing outdoor wedding ceremonies: our English Gardens are ideal for romantic, intimate ceremonies, while the Pergola overlooking the gardens and Grand River is a lovely setting for larger parties.
Will you have five or one hundred fifty people present? Will you have a morning or afternoon ceremony? Will your reception last for two hours, or four? Have fun making these decisions together – and remember, the most important part of a wedding is the lifetime together that follows it.
