Lansing Michigan Events Near The English Inn
May 11th, 2018 by Corey A. Edwards
Summer is rapidly approaching and, as it does, things are both literally and figuratively heating up! Planning on being in the area this spring? You’ll be happy to hear there are plenty of Lansing Michigan events planned near our Eaton Rapids inn!
Last time out, we talked about all the great antique-shopping opportunities near The English Inn. As I’m sure you already know, that’s not all there is to in our area!

East Lansing Jazz Festival
June 14th, 2011 by insideout
The Summer Solstice Jazz Festival takes place this weekend, June 17-18, 2011, not far from our Lansing Bed and Breakfast. Many fine local and national jazz performers participate in this FREE event that celebrates the Summer Solstice with jazz. Performances are held under a big tent the heart of downtown East Lansing, and crowds spill out under the late afternoon sun.

Stay at our Lansing Bed and Breakfast and enjoy festivals like the East Lansing Summer Solstice Jazz Festival.
Metro Jazz Voices opens the East Lansing Jazz Festival at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 17th. They’re followed by Etienne Charles & Folklore, the Grace Kelly Quintet, and Tumbao Bravo. If your thirst for jazz hasn’t been quenched up to that point, head to nearby Mumbai Fine Indian Dining to hear the Arlene McDaniel Quintet.
Saturday opens with Randy Gelispie & Friends at 4:30, followed by the Billie Holiday Project featuring Mardra Thomas at 6 p.m. The jazz continues with the Taylor Eigsti Quartet and Grupo-Aye’ under the tent. The Rodney Whitaker Quarter escorts listeners into the new day at Mumbai Fine Indian Dining (10:45 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.)
The Summer Solstice Jazz Festival is just one example of what a great community East Lansing is. It is a place where the arts are strongly appreciated and supported. Summer is a time of outdoor concerts and festivals. Winter is a time to sip coffee in a local cafe. No matter when you stay at our Lansing MI Bed and Breakfast, we hope you’ll have the opportunity to visit East Lansing.
Additional information about the festival is available at East Lansing Jazz Festival.
