Ladies, this is for you.
The annual Mid-Michigan Women’s Expo takes place in Lansing February 3-5, 2012. Call your girlfriends, your mom, your sister and plan to attend.
The Women’s Expo is all about women. It features demonstrations and presentations on a host of topics, from healthcare to women in business to cooking.
Try a new hairstyle and a makeover. Get a massage. Sample beauty products. Have a health screening. Meet with a personal fitness trainer. Learn about home-based businesses. Meet with interior designers, builders, and remodelers. Discuss hosting an international student. Plan a vacation. Shop.
Go for all three days, or simply spend a few hours at the Women’s Expo. Then head to our Lansing Fine Dining Restaurant with your girlfriends, and treat yourselves to a fun evening with friends.

The Lansing JazzFest is seventeen this year, and offering more free music and fun events than ever before. This is a wonderful activity for guests of our Lansing Bed and Breakfast.
Look forward to non-stop music during festival hours thanks to the several venues throughout Old Town. Even more exciting, each artist will play an original composition at Lansing’s JazzFest. Be the first to hear some truly wonderful pieces.
JazzFest 2011 musicians include the incomparable Nicole Mitchell’s Ice Crystal Quartet, Los Gatos, and Elden Kelly & the Global Roots Jazz Collective. In addition, there will be a variety of special events such as the Cory Allen Guitar Clinic, the Jeff Shoup Drum Clinic, and the Happendance’s Community Dance Project.
JazzFest runs Friday, August 5 from 4:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and Saturday August 6 from 1 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. in Old Town Lansing. Since it’s an outdoor festival, you may listen to great jazz while admiring the lovely architecture and shops of Old Town. A variety of vendors will sell food, crafts, art, clothing, and more during festival hours. Eat at JazzFest, or bring your appetite back to our Lansing Fine Dining Restaurant or pub.

Snow, snow, snow!
It’s easy to grumble about the snow. If it comes down hard, fast, and heavy enough, it can impact our work and play schedules for days. Simple things like restocking the cupboards become challenging. Travel becomes an odyssey, and once you get to where you were going, you may find it closed.
Case in point, our Eaton Rapids, Michigan, Restaurant is closed today due to heavy snows.
Nonetheless, snow is also cause for celebration, for snow days are not without their merits. Parents home from work with their children home from school suddenly have time for snow ball fights and building snow forts. Such hard work must be followed by a steaming mug of hot chocolate and a cuddle with a book, preferably by a hot fire. What was going to be an ordinary day is suddenly transformed into something magical, the memories of which will warm hearts for years.
