2011 Muelder Summer Carillon Series

July 10th, 2011 by insideout

This summer, as for the past 14 summers, the MSU College of Music is putting on it’s annual Muelder Carillon Series at the MSU Beaumont Tower. Performances take place Wednesday evenings 6 – 7 p.m., now through August 3, 2011. If you happen to be staying at our Lansing Bed and Breakfast midweek this summer, we hope you’ll check it out.

Beaumont Tower

Stretch out with a picnic on the lawns by Beaumont Tower during the Muelder Summer Carillon Concerts.

All are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets and picnic baskets. Perhaps you want to enjoy a glass of wine while with your music before returning to our Lansing fine dining restaurant for dinner. The setting is lovely and the atmosphere relaxed.

The 2011 Summer Carillon Series:

  • July 13, Eddy Mariën, Belgium, and Tom Lee, United States
  • July 20, Ray McLellan, Michigan State University Carillonneur
  • July 27, Stefano Colletti, France
  • August 3, Sally Harwood, Michigan State University

More information is available at Muelder Summer Carillon Series.

Mother’s Day at The English Inn

April 29th, 2011 by insideout

Mothers do so much for their families throughout their lives. They rise in the night to feed and care for us when we’re babies. They feed us, kiss our owies, and hug us tight. They oversee homework, drive us to activities, cheer at our games and hold us after defeats. Best of all, they love us for who we are.

Once a year, our society reminds us to honor our mothers. Mother’s Day in 2011 is May 8. May your plans now.

Celebrate Mother’s Day at our Eaton Rapids Fine Dining Restaurant. Treat her to a fabulous lunch or dinner with the whole family. Share your meal in our main dining area, or reserve one of our banquet rooms. We have private rooms perfect for as few as 16 guests and as many as 50.

Or invite your mother to a weekend at our Lansing Bed and Breakfast. Visit the shops and galleries of Lansing’s Old Town, take in a show, and raise your glass to Mom in our English pub. She’ll most appreciate the time you spend together – the fact that you thought to whisk her away.

A Mother´s Kiss [123/365]

Treat your mom to something special on Mother's Day - because she has always loved you.

Lansing Inn Spreads Holiday Cheer

December 15th, 2010 by insideout

We just can’t help ourselves.

Our Lansing Bed and Breakfast is all decked out for the holidays with evergreen boughs, wreaths, red ribbons and lights. The scent of pine infuses every corner of the inn, bringing with it thoughts of Christmas. Just the right amount of holiday music sets a festive tone.

Our Lansing area inn and restaurant exudes holiday cheer.

Our Lansing area restaurant has been busy with holiday luncheons and dinners. With five distinct rooms, we can comfortably accommodate several parties at once. We host small, intimate affairs in the Oxford Room (seats sixteen) and the Thames Room (seats twenty-four). Larger events are best suited to the Midford Room (seats thirty-two), the Devonshire Room (seats fifty), and Medovue Hall, which comfortably houses fifty to two hundred guests.

West Circle Music Series – Chopin

Lansing and the surrounding area are fortunate to have Michigan State University – the whole community benefits from the wide variety of concerts, art shows, lectures and sporting events offered by the MSU. Many guests of our Eaton Rapids luxury inn come to town to see or participate in activities at the university.

Panayis Lyras

This week, on Thursday, October 28, 2010, the MSU College of Music celebrates Two Hundred Years of Chopin, part of the West Circle Music Series. There is still space available at our Lansing area bed and breakfast, so give us a call and come to down for an evening of delightful piano music.

Michigan Apple Cider and Wine

October 14th, 2010 by insideout

Cider apple

Apple Cider = the taste of fall.

Autumn is one of the most delightful times to visit Michigan farms. Hay rides, pumpkin patches, and corn mazes are fun no matter how old you are – five or fifty. Harvest festivals abound at this time of year, and guests of our Eaton Rapids inn enjoy them.

Uncle John’s Cider Mill is about forty five minutes north of our Southern Michigan inn. The historic Cider Mill, used as a Cattle Barn in the early 1900’s, features a Cider Press, Donut Shop, and seating area. In September and October, visitors may witness the pressing of the cider (typically on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays). Enjoy fresh or mulled cider or try Uncle John’s award winning Hard Apple Cider. All taste like fall.
