Now is a great time to plan your own big day and, if you’re looking for stand-out Lansing MI wedding venues for your ceremony and reception, look no further!
A Historic and Romantic Lansing, MI Wedding Venue
The English Inn is a historic, Tudor revival mansion, situated on 15 manicured acres along the Grand River, just seven miles south of Lansing. The mansion and estate, named Medovue, was built by the Reuters family in 1927 and retains the stately, old world look it had when they were its caretakers.
The lush and inviting grounds include formal English gardens that are perfect for outdoor wedding ceremonies. In fact, one of our most popular, outdoor wedding locations is a pergola on the wooded banks of the Grand River. The setting is surrounded by a garden with a fountain, which accentuates the pleasant sound of the river. A truly memorable outdoor ceremony location. You could hardly ask for a more beautiful setting. The photo opportunities are endless.

Fitzgerald Park and the Ledges of Grand Ledge

Looking for a unique and beautiful place to get out into nature? Explore Grand Ledge’s Fitzgerald Park and discover The Ledges, an ancient and beautiful series of sandstone cliffs along the Grand River.
Folks may not realize it but Grand Ledge, MI gets its name from an actual grand ledge – or a series of them, anyway. Known as “The Ledges,” the mile long, 300 million year old, sedimentary rock outcropping rises as much as 60 feet (18 m) above the shores of the Grand River.
This unique formation is the largest outcropping of rocks in Central Michigan. Local native tribes knew the area as “Big Rocks” and came here each spring to tap the sugar maples. A spiritualist summer campground was established here in 1894 and the Ledges Playhouse Theater pavillion they built still stands.
The property became a public park in 1919 and has remained a popular Grand Ledge attraction ever since.
Grand Ledge is located northwest of Lansing, MI just a short, half hour’s drive from The English Inn in Eaton Rapids. It would be easy to make a fun day-trip out of your visit. The town is full of fun shops, good restaurants, and lovely Victorian homes.
Spend the day investigating the area, then enjoy the short drive back to our Eaton Rapids inn, restaurant, and pub!

Lansing Area Holiday Parties
December 8th, 2010 by insideout
Our Michigan inn, restaurant, and pub is the ideal place to host your Lansing area holiday parties. We are a large facility with a variety of venues that comfortably accommodate anywhere from sixteen to two hundred guests. Holiday parties may have heavy appetizers and a full bar, or a full sit-down luncheon or dinner; you decide.
The Thames Room (seats 24) features three walls of leaded windows, a fireplace, and views of gardens and the Grand River. The Devonshire Room (seats 50) features rich Honduran mahogany paneled walls, an elegant fireplace, and a baby grand piano. The Oxford Room (seats 16) features a large stone fireplace and expansive views. The Midford Room (seats 32) is the estate’s original dining room and looks directly out to the gardens. Finally, Medovue Hall (50 – 200 guests) is a grand setting with huge arched windows and views over the whole estate.
Our expansive grounds feature formal English gardens and views of the Grand River. There are walking trails throughout the fifteen acres – the perfect place to stroll after a meal. While not much is in bloom at this time of year, the gardens are a delightful place to take in a bit of fresh air or reconnect with an old friend.
Host your company holiday party here and your colleagues and employees will feel appreciated. Host a family party here and everyone will have a good time; there will be no frenzied running in an out of the kitchen while trying to enjoy the company of siblings, children, parents, and long lost cousins. Instead, reconnect over a glass of wine from our award winning wine cellar, or a pint at the pub. Everyone is the guest of honor at our Lansing area DiRoNA restaurant.
