Visiting a winery is a wonderful way to meet interesting people, learn about the wine-making process, and taste some wonderful, regional wines – and many of the wineries near Eaton Rapids offer tours and tastes!

Making the trek to a winery or two takes the experience of enjoying a glass of wine from that of being just another refreshing drink and turns it into a much more intimate and educational experience. Even a wine novice will get a lot more than they suspect from visiting a vineyard.

Meeting the creators and knowing what goes into a wine – not just the toil and water but also the soil, the process, the care and study involved – makes enjoying a glass of wine that much more of an event with depth and resonance.

Luckily, more wineries than ever are open and welcoming to visitors – tours, tastes, retail sales, and sometimes small cafes are now common amenities of even small, family vineyards.
