Bonnie View Golf Course & Others Near English Inn
September 17th, 2021 by Corey A. Edwards
Looking to get some time in on the links during your Eaton Rapids getaway? Great idea! You’ll be happy to know that the highly-rated Bonnie View Golf Course is just minutes up the road from The English Inn.
There are many different ways to enjoy the great outdoors but for some of us, the best way is with a set of clubs. There’s nothing quite like a good game of golf for clearing your mind, stretching those muscles, and getting out into the fresh air. Any real opportunity to practice your swing on manicured greens in a serene setting should not be missed.
Luckily, for golf-loving guests of The English Inn, such opportunities are within easy reach. Not only are there a variety of courses to choose from in the local area, one of the most popular is our next door neighbor.
Bonnie View Golf Course
Bonnie View Golf Course is located at 194 S Michigan Road in Eaton Rapids, MI. This is literally just 3 minutes up the road from our Lansing-area bed and breakfast, The English Inn. If a person felt so motivated, they could even walk there in about ten minutes, it’s that close by.
Bonnie View Golf Course offers a challenging but fun, 9-hole public golf course, designed by Jerry MacCay. The course measures 3191 yards from the longest tees and features 3 sets of tees for different skill levels.

Admire Fall Colors by Water
October 17th, 2011 by insideout
Fall colors throughout Michigan are peaking. Red, orange, yellow, and russet leaves are everywhere: along country lanes, in rolling forests, and lining the banks of rivers, streams, and lakes. If surrounding yourself with colorful fall foliage makes you happy, now is the time to do it.
One of the most wonderful ways to experience fall colors in Michigan is from the water. Water is everywhere in Michigan. It borders the state to the east, west, and north. It is found in the more than 36,500 miles of rivers and streams that flow through here.
This fall, get out on the water and admire fall colors as they’re reflected in the water under your feet.
Several places near our Eaton Rapids Bed and Breakfast offer boat rentals:
- Burchfield Park, on the Grand River.
- The Grand Fish in Lansing, on the Grand River.
- U-Rent-Em Canoe Livery in Hastings, on the Thornapple River.
Spend a few hours in a canoe or kayak, meandering up the Grand or Thornapple Rivers, or circumnavigating a small lake. The fall colors will be magnificent and the fresh air will be invigorating. It will undoubtedly stimulate the appetite.
After your paddle, stop by the pub at our Eaton Rapids inn and restaurant. Satisfy your thirst with a pint of ale and stave off hunger with a Black Angus Burger or a hearty French Dip sandwich. Then wander through our grounds and admire fall colors along the Grand River from a higher elevation. You may even be inspired to stay the night.
Mother’s Day at The English Inn
April 29th, 2011 by insideout
Mothers do so much for their families throughout their lives. They rise in the night to feed and care for us when we’re babies. They feed us, kiss our owies, and hug us tight. They oversee homework, drive us to activities, cheer at our games and hold us after defeats. Best of all, they love us for who we are.
Once a year, our society reminds us to honor our mothers. Mother’s Day in 2011 is May 8. May your plans now.
Celebrate Mother’s Day at our Eaton Rapids Fine Dining Restaurant. Treat her to a fabulous lunch or dinner with the whole family. Share your meal in our main dining area, or reserve one of our banquet rooms. We have private rooms perfect for as few as 16 guests and as many as 50.
Or invite your mother to a weekend at our Lansing Bed and Breakfast. Visit the shops and galleries of Lansing’s Old Town, take in a show, and raise your glass to Mom in our English pub. She’ll most appreciate the time you spend together – the fact that you thought to whisk her away.
