Ski Woldumar Nature Center, Fitzgerald Park, & More
February 11th, 2022 by Corey A. Edwards
If the sight of snow on the ground has you hankering to get your skis on, you’re in luck. The Eaton Rapids area is home to a number of excellent cross-country ski and snowshoe opportunities at wonderful places like Woldumar Nature Center, Fitzgerald Park, and more.
The English Inn’s convenient location, just south of Lansing, MI in Eaton Rapids, puts us within easy distance of just about anything you could want to do. Shopping, dining, live entertainment, museums, hiking, boating, touring, and so much more.
What you may not have realized is that you can add skiing and snowshoeing to that list, as well. While the nearest ski resort, https://www.mtbrighton.com/Mt. Brighton, is an hour away, opportunities for cross-country skiing are much closer.
You say you left your skis or snowshoes at home? Not a problem! Many of the destinations below offer equipment rentals and there are a number of outfitters in the area that can help get you on your way. Just let us know what it is you’re wanting to do and we’ll help point you in the right direction.
We love sharing Michigan with our guests!

December 21st, 2010 by insideout
We invite one and all to celebrate New Year’s Eve at our Lansing DiRoNA restaurant. It is sure to be a festive event with matchless cuisine, fun hats, and party favors.
Our chefs are putting together a fantastic four course dinner: choose from Roasted Half Duckling, Chicken Oscar, Lobster tail, New Zealand Rack of Lamb, English Inn Prime Rib, Fennel Encrusted Salmon, Lobster Stuffed Walleye, and Classic Filet Mignon. The Prix Fixe dinner includes an appetizer, salad, entree and dessert for just $59 (per person).
Patrick will be on the piano all evening, from 4p.m. until 10 p.m. (well, we’ll let him take a few breaks). Enjoy his skilled playing as you comfortably make your way through our tasty four-course meal. You may even be compelled to sing along to an old favorite.
