Explore the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum

October 16th, 2022 by Corey A. Edwards

Eli and Edythe Broad Art MuseumLovers of art and architecture will enjoy a visit to the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University. The museum, also known as the MSU Broad, exhibits significant art from around the globe, in a stunning building designed by internationally known architect Zaha Hadid.

There’s nothing quite like a visit to an art museum. That’s because, when you’re viewing art, you’re communing with the artist, in a way. Getting a glimpse inside their head to see what and how they think. Fine art is not just beautiful or fascinating but inspirational, informative, thought provoking, or moving. One often comes away from a good art museum feeling refreshed, thoughtful, and motivated.

If you agree than you will not want to miss an opportunity to visit the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum. The museum opened its doors on the MSU campus, in East Lansing, in 2012. It is named in honor of two longtime supporters of the university and the arts.

The 46,000-square-foot museum was built to replace the much smaller Kresge Art Museum. Many come just to take in the building’s multifaceted exterior of pleated stainless steel and glass. More beauty awaits inside, however.

Discover Color on a Michigan Fall Foliage Drive

August 12th, 2022 by Corey A. Edwards

Michigan Fall Foliage DriveThere’s nothing quite as arresting as nature decked out in its bright, autumn colors and fall 2022 is set to be more colorful than ever. Here at The English Inn, we’re surrounded by beautiful countryside, a front row seat to the annual Michigan fall foliage show!

Summer is a wonderful time and it’s always sad to see it go but at least we have multi-hued autumn to soften the blow. That’s especially true for Michigan’s fall 2022. We’re expecting a warm September and early October, which should result in brighter, more vibrant colors come mid to late October, when the colors peak.

Our Eaton Rapids bed and breakfast, The English Inn, is located on a 15-acre estate overlooking the Grand River. Our groomed gardens and nature trails are always lovely but this is especially true in fall when the leaves change. Enjoy a traipse along the grounds or take it all in with a drink from the comforts of our English Pub.

Our location in Eaton Rapids surrounds us with a scenic countryside of woodlands, rivers, and farms. In fact, we’re part of one of Michigan’s most popular fall foliage drives. A 150 mile loop tour that runs through Grand Ledge, Hastings, Battle Creek, and Eaton Rapids.
