Discover Michigan Wines

June 3rd, 2010 by insideout

It is a little known fact out of state, but it’s true: Michigan has some excellent wines. There are a good seventy wineries in Michigan, and each one is worth visiting. Southeast Michigan, home of our Lansing bed and breakfast, has eleven wineries. Stay with us and discover the Southeast Michigan Wine Trail.

Burgdorf’s Winery is quite near our Michigan bed and breakfast – just 25 miles away. Enjoy a scenic drive on your way to the winery, which is open for visitation Wednesdays through Sundays from noon to five pm. The Burgdorfs have been crafting fine wines for over 25 years, initially inspired by the copious amounts of fruit they grew. The first batch of Raspberry wine was good, and as the berries kept growing, they kept brewing. Today, Burgdorf’s Winery features over a dozen varieties of wine, from classics like Pinot Noir and Riesling to astonishing Pineapple wines.

Wine tasting at Burgdorf’s Winery is a delightful experience. If you feel adventurous, speak with them about crafting your own wines – they will help you create a memory you can take home and share with friends.

Back at our Michigan bed and breakfast, we hope you will find wines you like on the award-winning wine list in our Lansing pub and restaurant.
