Visit Southeast Michigan Farms

June 24th, 2010 by insideout

Our Eaton Rapids Michigan bed and breakfast is close to many farms, and many of those farms offer farmstands and u-pick fruits. A morning or afternoon spent visiting a Michigan farm is a delightful addition to any holiday; it can even help you unwind after a long day of business meetings.Currants and blueberries and gooseberries, oh my!

This summer and fall, don’t leave our Southeast Michigan bed and breakfast without a basket of freshly picked fruit. Gibb’s Berry Farm in Eaton Rapids is a good place for strawberries right now. Balzer Blueberries in Onondaga and Bird Blueberry Farm in Haslett are great spots for blueberry picking mid-July through August, and Lechleitner Blueberry Farm in Leslie has some early varieties that are ripe now.

Raspberries and blackberries will be available in August and September. Visit Gruber Rapsberry Farm in Williamston, Rowe’s Farm Market in Mason, and Swallowtail Farm (organic), also in Mason. Pick apples and enjoy a wagon ride in the fall at Cearview Orchards in Haslett.

Get close to the bountiful nature you see when you visit our Eaton Rapids inn. Visit a Michigan farm.
