The Riverwalk Theatre is one of Lansing’s true gems. Housed in what was once an old warehouse by the river, Riverwalk Theatre produces an impressive number and variety of shows each year. Last season alone, Riverwalk fans had the chance to see 4 children’s shows, 4 original play readings, 3 Black Box shows, 2 grand musicals, 7 special events, 3 dramas, and 1 comedy. Phew! The best part? All were worth seeing.
We are always happy to suggest guests of our Lansing Bed and Breakfast take in a show at the Riverwalk Theatre.
The 2011 – 2012 season (also known as Season 23) opens this week with Flaming Idiots. Written by Tom Rooney and directed by Josh Martin, Flaming Idiots follows two average fellows who decide to open a restaurant. They expect to find their fortune, but instead find hilarity. It is sure to make you laugh. Flaming Idiots runs July 21 – 24, and 28 – 31.
Laughing Wild takes the stage August 4 – 7, 11 – 14. This strongly worded comedy on the Black Box Stage is wonderfully outside the box. What do you get when a man, a woman, a dangerous tuna fish can, and dreams meet up with the congregants of the Harmonic Convergence in Central Park? The answer is great fun at the Riverwalk Theatre.
Make an evening of it. Enjoy an early dinner at our Lansing Fine Dining Restaurant before the show, and a drink at the pub afterwards.
