Lansing's Silver Bells in the City 2014Silver Bells in the City is a thirty-year-old, Lansing tradition that is beloved by generations, attracting over 80,000 people each year and taking place the Friday before Thanksgiving in Lansing, Michigan.

Lansing’s Silver Bells in the City is free celebration of Christmas made possible by the annual effort of many passionate volunteers and with the assistance from the State of Michigan and the City of Lansing. During the celebration, entire city comes to life with millions of lights and thousands of people all gathered together in the warmth and celebration of the holiday season.

Silver Bells in the City includes such attractions as the Silver Bells Village, the Electric Light Parade, and numerous, other holiday-themed attractions:

Silver Bells Village
Open from 5pm to 9pm, the Silver Bells Village is the perfect one-stop-shopping spot for all your holiday gifts, featuring a broad selection of vendors selling a wide array of wonderful goods, along with delicious refreshments and, of course, the 30th annual, limited edition, Silver Bells in the City commemorative ornament!

The 18th Annual Electric Light Parade
Starting at 6pm, Friday from the corner of Lenawee and South Washington Square in downtown Lansing, the Electric Light Parade features over 70 paraders, including lighted floats, decorated vehicles, horse drawn carriages, marching bands, and, of course, the arrival of Santa. Don’t miss it!

The Lighting Of The Official State Christmas Tree
The annual and exciting tree lighting takes place in front of the State Capitol at approximately 7:35pm, Friday the 21st.

Community Sing with The Larry Callahan and Selected of God Choir
The Larry Callahan and Selected of God Choir will lead the attending crowd through “Silver Bells” and “Joy to the World.”

Silver Bells in the City Fireworks Show
Enjoy a dazzling, Christmas-themed fireworks display (weather permitting) over the Capitol dome: Friday night at approximately 7:45pm.
