The third in a series of MasterWorks Concerts will take place Saturday, January 23, 2010, at 8pm. Timothy Muffitt will lead the orchestra through works by Mendelssohn, Strauss and Brahms. Ilya Kaler on Violin and Amit Peled on Violoncello will round out this magnificent performance by the Lansing Symphony Orchestra at the Wharton Center for the Performing Arts.
After a delicious breakfast and lazy morning at our elegant Lansing bed and breakfast, spend Sunday afternoon at the Kresge Art Museum. American Modernism, 1920s-1940s is a fascinating exhibit that runs through March 14, 2010. Pieces by Hananiah Harari, Arthur Dove, Paul Kelpe, Frank Llyod Wright, and many other artists from that epoch will astound you. This period in American art is often overlooked because it is difficult to neatly categorize and define it. What do you make of it?
