The Wharton Center at Michigan State University is host to a broad array of performances. This month alone sees Sarah MacLachlan, the Detroit Chamber Winds and Strings, and River North Chicago Dance Company; any one of these would be a delightful addition to a night at our Lansing Bed and Breakfast.
Sarah McLachlan performs March 14, 2011, at Cobb Great Hall. She tours to promote her first studio-made album in seven years. Sit back and let the magical sound of her voice stir your soul, and the weekend at our luxurious Lansing lodging is sure to be romantic.
The Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings with Ralph Votapek performs at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 27, 2011. Votapek is professor emeritus at the Michigan State University College of Music and a favorite performer in and around Lansing. Enjoy an afternoon of Mozart, Stravinsky, Gabrieli and Antheil.
Finally, add an energizing performance by River North Chicago Dance Company to a midweek getaway at our Lansing B&B. Their work is consistently “fresh and innovative”. The performance on March 31 celebrates the life and career of Miles Davis, and the dances will have a strong jazz influence.
Dinner, a romantic night at the inn, and a performance at the Wharton – it’s the perfect way to celebrate a special occasion this March.
