Lansing Silver Bells in the City 2022
November 18th, 5pm to 10pm
Silver Bells in the City is Lansing’s hugely popular, holiday event. The beloved annual tradition sees the city come to life with sparkling lights, bright decorations, and a host of holiday themed events.
Silver Bells Village – 5pm to 9pm
Shop ’til you drop at Silver Bells Village. This perfect, one-stop-shopping event features a wide range vendors selling a broad array goods and delicious refreshments.
The 25th Annual Electric Light Parade – 6pm
You don’t want to miss Lansing’s annual Electric Light Parade! The popular event, held in downtown Lansing, features lighted floats and vehicles, horse drawn carriages, marching bands, and, of course, the arrival of Santa. Wonderful holiday fun.
The Lighting and Community Sing
The annual tree lighting takes place after the parade, in front of the State Capitol. This is followed by a community sing, lead by top 20 American Idol contestant, Jacob Moran.
Firefly Drone Light Show & Fireworks
A dazzling, holiday-themed drone light show and fireworks display over the Capitol dome (weather permitting) follows the tree lighting and community sing.

Silver Bells 5K – November 19th
Come join in or watch the 12th Annual Silver Bells 5K Race. This year’s costume contest categories are holiday traditional, festive sweater, and holiday movies.
Wonderland of Lights at Potter Park Zoo – November 19th through December 23rd
Come see Potter Park Zoo transformed into a winter wonderland! Every year, around the holidays, Potter Park decorates with thousands of lights and holiday displays. The event includes cookies, crafts and – of course! – animal encounters.
Lansing Turkey Trot – November 24th in Downtown Lansing
Earn the calories of your Thanksgiving dinner at the 2022 5k Lansing Turkey Trot run/walk. Start time is 9am and there is a virtual option.
Mason Tree Lighting & Lighted Parade– November 25th in Mason, MI
Enjoy an old fashioned Christmas celebration at the 20th Annual Mason Holidays Celebration. Event includes a tree lighting, lighted parade, caroling, and more.
59th Annual MSU Arts and Crafts Holiday Show – December 3rd & 4th
The annual MSU Arts & Crafts Holiday Show is one of the largest in the state with thousands of one-of-a-kind, handcrafted items from new and returning vendors. A great holiday shopping opportunity.
East Lansing Winter Fest (aka Winter Glow) – December 10th
Winter Fest is East Lansing’s annual, free, outdoor winter festival. This popular event has a little something for everyone with ice carving, carriage rides, holiday farmers market, live music tent, yummy holiday treats, and so very much more.
Christmas in the Village at Meridian Village – December 10th
See Meridian Historical Village and its volunteers decorated in their holiday best to transport you back to a 19th century Christmas. A fun, unique, and educational holiday experience.
